Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about roles, IEP goals, security, and data ownership.
Getting Started
Districts, schools, and individual special education teachers. A district administrator or school administrator sets up your district/school and invites teachers. Teachers can also register themselves with their school email through the registration link their district shares.
If your district shared a registration link, open it, fill in your name, school email, school, and password. Registrations are reviewed and approved by your district administrator before you can sign in, and new self-registered teachers get a 3-month free trial.
Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen. You will receive a one-time code by email to reset your password.
User Roles & Permissions
Teacher, Co-Teacher, School Admin, District Admin, and Super Admin. Each role sees only the data it is authorized to access — for example, a teacher only sees their own students, while a district admin sees every school in their district.
No. Only Teachers and Co-Teachers can create or edit student records, IEP goals, and progress data — this keeps data entry accountable to the educator working directly with the student. Administrators can view all data in their scope, manage schools/districts/users, and export reports.
A Co-Teacher has the same day-to-day access as a Teacher for the students they are assigned to — creating goals, entering progress data, and updating student records.
IEP Goals & Progress Tracking
The goal builder walks you through the standard IEP format: "By [Date], given [Condition], the student will [Skill/Behavior] with [Percentage/Criteria] accuracy across [Number of Trials], as measured by [Assessment Tool]." You fill in each bracket and the platform assembles the full goal statement for you.
Open a student's active goal and use "Take Data" to log an accuracy percentage, date, and optional notes for each session or observation.
Yes. From a student's Progress tab, choose Export, optionally add teacher remarks, and generate a PDF report with the goal statement, a progress chart, and the full data log.
Each IEP period keeps its own set of goals. Previous IEP periods are read-only so historical progress data is preserved exactly as it was recorded.
Data Security & Privacy
All traffic to and from the platform is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We are also rolling out at-rest encryption for the most sensitive student fields (name, date of birth, student ID, disability category).
Yes. Student name, date of birth, and disability fields are masked by default in the interface and can be revealed on demand by an authorized user.
Student and user records are archived (soft-deleted), not permanently erased — they are hidden from active lists but retained so historical goal and progress data stays intact and auditable.
The platform is built around FERPA principles — role-based access so users only see authorized records, encryption in transit, and audit-minded data handling. We are happy to walk your district through our current compliance posture and roadmap.
Districts & Data Ownership
Yes. District Admins can export all teachers, students, and goal/progress data for their district for offline reporting or backup.
Yes — your district owns its data. Full exports are available at any time, and we can provide a final export as part of an offboarding request.
